Welcome to the Concert Corner!! Going to concerts is truly the only thing that isn't work that gets me out of my apartment. I've started junk journaling to remember my concerts but I want another place to catalog my concert experiences.
Static Dress with Bent Blue, Initiate, and Soul Blind
Favorite Set: Static Dress
Who I Was There To See: Static Dress
Highlight(s): Getting to hear face. live for the first time
Other Comments: Static Dress are my boys and I do not play about this band. Seriously, this was the fifth time I’ve seen them in the past year. This was my first time at this venue for a concert and I got free parking which was beautiful and stunning. Also this show was full of teens and like obviously that makes sense but my god did they make me feel fucking geriatric. This show reminded me why I like going to shows so much. I fucking love this band, I fucking loved this night, I fucking love Static Dress.
Superheaven with Prize Horse, Spy, and Glare
Favorite Set: Spy
Who I Was There To See: Spy and Superheaven
Highlight(s): Spy’s entire set
Other Comments: This was the night after the Static Dress concert and honestly this show was a good one to have day 2. I paid as much for parking as I did for my fucking ticket which was ridiculous. This venue let you leave and reenter and I looooovveed that, true game changer. I left all my merch in the car and went back to the venue with just my phone, wallet, keys, and earplugs on me. Dudes are so lucky they can just do that all the time, it was so freeing (I will say I was wearing men’s jeans to this show so I think that’s the real reason I was able to get away with that). I bought a lot of merch at this show which was bad financially but good for the soul. The show itself was super chill. Everyone sounded great. People were moshing to Superheaven which was certainly a choice (I saw more moshing for Superheaven than I did for Spy which was the singular hardcore band on the bill). Overall solid show, solid night.
Movements with Scowl, Citizen, and Downward
Favorite Set: Movements
Who I Was There To See: Movements and Scowl
Highlights: Citizen opening with The Night I Drove Alone and the entire crowd singing along. Getting to hear Coeur D’Alene live.
Other Comments: This was my third time seeing Movements and oh my god do I love that band. I haven’t been listening to them as much recently and I still knew the words to nearly every song. The feeling I get when I see them play live reminds me why I love going to concerts so much. Also there was a kpop concert going on at the stadium that was right by our venue and that was chaos because we could hear them lol.
